- Keswick - This bustling yet charming town offers stunning views of the lake and the mountains nearby. You can explore Moot Hall (complete with quirky clock!), and for outdoor enthusiasts, there's a host of trails parks, and activities. Hikers will love Skiddaw and Blencathra, two of the highest peaks in the area.
- Ambleside - A small but popular location with beautiful shops, lovely restaurants, a cinema, and renowned for being one of the best bases for exploring the Lake District. Maybe in the summer months, take a horse drawn carriage from Ambleside to Waterhead Pier, or take your camera to the spectacular Stock Ghyll Force - the awe-inspiring 70ft waterfall.
- Bowness-on-Windermere - Situated on the shore of Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere is a thriving holiday town, popular with tourists. Here, you'll find hundreds of shops, and many fine cultural and historical attractions. The views across the lake and up the mountains are some of the finest you'll find in the Lake District.
You can also discover quaint villages, such as Hawkshead, with its narrow streets, cobbled courtyards, and pretty white-washed buildings.
