Chester - This northwest county town was founded by the Romans in 76AD, and is home to Britain's largest Roman amphitheatre. Chester promises a lovely day out, with a delightful selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy.
Edinburgh - Scotland's capital, steeped in history and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Its medieval old town boasts stunning architecture, and in August crowds flock to see the impressive Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. And don't forget the Royal Mile, that leads up to the magnificent Edinburgh castle.
York - The viking heritage, and castle walls that greet you in York promises a memorable break when you head to North Yorkshire. The cobbled lanes of the Shambles are home to the quainest of independent shops, and the York Minster is one of the worlds most magnificent Gothic cathedrals, and the largest in Europe.
